Laravel Engineering Support

Hire Laravel Developers for Your Next Project

Need reliable Laravel engineering capacity? Peregrine helps businesses build, improve and maintain Laravel applications through project-based and ongoing development engagements.

The work is mostly SaaS development, APIs, integrations and ongoing engineering support, arranged as fixed-scope projects, monthly retainers, or a combination agreed after the discovery call. We work with SaaS founders, engineering teams, digital agencies and businesses that run on Laravel, including teams in the US, UK, Canada and Australia, from our office in Noida, India.

Your first conversation is a 30-minute technical discovery call with an engineer. The button opens a short form; please do not send passwords, server credentials or code through it.

Fit

Is Laravel Engineering Support the Right Fit?

A good fit when

  • You are a SaaS founder whose product runs on Laravel, and the roadmap has more backend work than your current developers can deliver.
  • You are a CTO or engineering manager who needs a defined piece of Laravel work, such as an API, an integration or an upgrade, taken on while your team stays on the core product.
  • You run a digital agency that has won a project built on Laravel, or for a client whose system runs on it, and need the engineering delivered.
  • Your business depends on a Laravel application in production that needs new features, fixes and regular updates.
  • Your company needs more backend engineering for queues, integrations or database work than it can hire for in the time available.
  • You have inherited a Laravel codebase with few tests, outdated packages or little documentation, and want it reviewed before anyone changes it.

Probably not the right fit when

  • You want to hire an employee onto your own payroll. Peregrine is an engineering firm, not a recruitment agency.
  • You want to choose developers from profiles before the work is discussed. The first step is a 30-minute technical discovery call with an engineer.
  • The main need is moving off an unsupported PHP version. That is covered by our PHP upgrade and migration service.
What we build

What Does Peregrine's Laravel Engineering Support Service Include?

Peregrine's Laravel engineering support covers SaaS backends, custom applications, REST APIs, CRM and payment integrations, authentication and permissions, queues, database performance, and the maintenance and modernization of existing Laravel applications. It can be a defined project, ongoing development on a monthly retainer, or a combination agreed after the discovery call.

SaaS backends

Multi-tenant data models, roles, subscription billing with Stripe, and the background jobs a SaaS product needs for email, reports and imports.

REST APIs

Versioned REST APIs with authentication and rate limiting, serving a React or Next.js frontend, a mobile app or partner systems.

CRM and workflow integrations

Connections between a Laravel application and the CRM or workflow tools around it, with retries and checks that keep records in agreement on both sides.

Payments

Stripe subscriptions and one-time payments, with webhook handling that keeps access, invoices and renewals in sync and retries failed events.

Third-party services and webhooks

Email, SMS, file storage and vendor APIs, with verified webhook handling, safe reprocessing of repeated events and logging for calls that fail.

Authentication and permissions

Login, token-based API authentication, roles and permissions, and the policies that decide who can see and change each record.

Multi-tenant applications

Per-customer data scoping, configuration and roles, so one customer's data or settings cannot appear in another customer's account.

Queues and background jobs

Queued jobs with retries for slow or unreliable work, scheduled tasks, and a clear view of the jobs that fail.

Custom web applications

Portals, admin panels and internal tools built on Laravel, with audit logs and role-based access.

Database performance

Finding slow queries, missing indexes and repeated queries in MySQL or PostgreSQL, and adding Redis caching where it helps.

Legacy application maintenance

Fixes, dependency updates and small features for a Laravel application in production, released in steps that can each be rolled back. Older custom PHP systems are covered on our PHP engineering support page.

Laravel modernization

Moving an older Laravel version to a supported release one major version at a time, with tests added first. Runtime upgrades are covered by our PHP upgrade and migration service.

Timeline

How Long Does a Laravel Engineering Support Project Take?

Peregrine sets the timeline after the discovery call and, for an existing application, after reviewing the codebase, because the work depends on the Laravel and PHP versions, the tests and how releases reach production. Joining an existing project follows the six steps below; larger work runs in two-week sprints with weekly demos.

Understand your goals

On the discovery call we go through what the application does, what you need from it next and the kind of help you are looking for.

Review the Laravel and PHP environment

Laravel and PHP versions, Composer packages, tests, queues and hosting, using the checklist on this page.

Identify code and deployment constraints

What limits change today: missing tests, abandoned packages, manual releases or parts of the code that nobody owns.

Agree scope, responsibilities and communication

What we work on, what your team keeps, who reviews and approves changes, and how and when we communicate.

Establish delivery and testing

How work moves from a branch to production: code review, the tests each change needs, staging and release.

Review milestones and next steps

Check each milestone against the scope, then agree the next piece of work, a handover or ongoing development.

Engagement options

Choose the Engagement That Fits the Work

Laravel work can be arranged in several ways. This table shows what each option suits; the arrangement is agreed with you after the discovery call.

EngagementSuitsHow it is arranged
Defined projectA piece of work that can be written down: a new feature, an API, an integration or an upgradeA fixed scope agreed after the discovery call; larger work runs in two-week sprints with weekly demos and ends in testing and handover
Ongoing development retainerAn application in production with a steady flow of features, fixes and updatesA monthly retainer, with priorities reviewed at an agreed cadence
Engineering capacity discussionTeams exploring a more continuous allocation of engineering time, subject to an agreed arrangementDiscussed on the call and set out in writing if it suits both sides; nothing about allocation is assumed in advance
White-label developmentAgencies delivering a Laravel project to their own clientDelivered under your agency's brand on terms agreed per project; see white-label development

Engagements are fixed-scope projects, monthly retainers, or a combination, agreed after the discovery call.

Scope

What Determines the Scope of a Laravel Engineering Support Project?

These are the inputs that change the effort. None needs a final answer before the first call, but each one you can answer makes the estimate tighter.

Scope of the work
A single feature or integration, a set of features, or ongoing development of a whole application.
Duration
A defined project ends at handover; ongoing development continues as a monthly retainer, which changes how the work is planned.
Experience the work needs
Routine features need different experience from architecture, performance or security-sensitive work, and the mix changes the effort.
Technical complexity
Multi-tenancy, payments, heavy queue use, large databases and many integrations each add design and testing work.
Testing
An application without tests needs tests around its critical paths before it can be changed safely.
Coordination
Working inside your team's repository, reviews and release process takes agreed time for communication and handover.

A sensible first phase

For an existing application, a sensible first phase is a review of the codebase, its dependencies, tests and deployment that ends in a written list of risks and an order of work. For new work it is one complete feature, built, tested and released through your process, so both sides see how the collaboration runs.

Getting started

How Does a Laravel Engineering Support Project Start?

A Peregrine Laravel Engineering Support project starts with a 30-minute technical discovery call with an engineer, not a salesperson. Larger builds then begin with a discovery sprint that maps requirements, designs the architecture and produces a written technical plan. Smaller, well-defined tasks can use the quick project form for a scoped estimate.

What to bring to the scoping call

  • What you are building or fixing, and what the next few months of work look like.
  • The Laravel and PHP versions, if you know them, and where the application is hosted.
  • How your team works today: repository, code review, testing and how releases reach production.
  • The kind of assistance you need: a defined project, ongoing development, or a discussion of a more continuous arrangement.
  • The third-party services the application depends on.
  • Any deadline, such as a launch date or a support end date.

Partial answers are fine. Whatever is missing becomes the first item on the call.

Taking over a codebase

What We Review When Taking Over a Laravel Codebase

Before changing an application someone else wrote, we look at what it runs on and how it reaches production. These are the areas we check.

Laravel version
Which major version the application is on and whether it still receives security fixes, according to Laravel's release notes.
PHP runtime and patch status
The PHP version on every server and worker, and whether it includes the latest security release for its branch. The PHP project lists each branch's dates on its supported versions page.
Composer packages
Each package's supported Laravel and PHP range, abandoned packages, and any package that has been modified in place.
Test coverage
Which critical paths have feature or integration tests, and which would show a regression only through a customer report.
Migrations
Whether the migrations rebuild the schema from scratch, and which schema changes need planning on a large table.
Queues and scheduled tasks
Workers, failed-job handling and scheduled tasks, which often run under a different process or server from the web application.
Authentication
How users and API clients sign in, how roles and permissions are enforced, and how sessions and tokens are stored.
Integrations
Payment, CRM, email and vendor APIs the application calls, the webhooks it receives, and what happens when one of them fails.
Deployment
Whether a staging environment and a deployment pipeline exist, or releases are made by hand on the server.
Error monitoring
Where errors and failed jobs are logged, who sees them, and whether anyone is alerted.

The review ends in a written list of findings and an order of work. For applications several versions behind, our Laravel upgrade checklist sets out the phases of an upgrade.

Remote collaboration

How Remote Collaboration Works

Our engineers work from our office in Noida, India. These are the working arrangements we agree with you at the start of an engagement.

  • Written requirements for each piece of work, so both sides agree what is being built before it starts.
  • An agreed cadence for planning, progress updates and demos.
  • Repository access arranged after the scope is agreed, in your repository or one agreed with you.
  • Code review and testing before each change is merged and released.
  • Milestones that can each be checked against the agreed scope.
  • Meeting times are agreed with you.
  • Documentation and a handover of what the scope lists, so your team can run and extend the application.

Which Case Studies Show Peregrine's Laravel Engineering Support Work?

Peregrine has not published a Laravel case study yet, so this page makes no project claims about Laravel work. Every published case study lists Node.js in its stack. Ask about your Laravel application on the discovery call, and an engineer will tell you plainly whether we are the right team for it.

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

Can you build APIs and integrations in Laravel?

Yes. We build REST APIs with authentication, rate limiting and versioning for web and mobile frontends, and integrations with payment providers, CRMs and other third-party services, with queued retries and webhook handling for the calls that fail.

Can you provide ongoing Laravel support?

Yes. Features, fixes and dependency updates can continue as a monthly retainer, with priorities reviewed at an agreed cadence. Ongoing work can follow a defined project or start on its own once we have reviewed the application.

Can your developers work with our in-house team?

Yes. We agree at the start how the work fits your process: which repository we work in, how code is reviewed, how testing and releases work, and who sets priorities. Meeting times are agreed with you.

Can you work on our existing Laravel application?

Yes. We start with a review of the Laravel and PHP versions, Composer packages, tests, queues and deployment, then agree what to change first. The application stays in use while changes are released in steps.

How is Laravel work estimated?

Work is scoped as a fixed-scope project, a monthly retainer or a combination, agreed after the discovery call. The estimate depends on the scope, how long the work continues, the experience it needs, the condition of the codebase and its tests, and the coordination involved with your team. Existing applications are reviewed first. We do not publish rates.

Can we arrange a more dedicated engagement?

It can be discussed. If your team is looking for a more continuous allocation of engineering time, raise it on the discovery call. Whether it suits both sides, and on what terms, is agreed in writing; nothing about allocation or availability is guaranteed in advance.

How are code access and confidentiality handled?

Confidentiality and access are governed by the executed client agreement. Repository and server access is arranged after the scope is agreed, limited to what the work needs. Please do not send passwords, credentials or code through the contact form.

Can you upgrade older Laravel versions?

Yes, usually one major version at a time, with tests added first. According to Laravel's release notes, Laravel 11 supports PHP 8.2 to 8.4 and its security fixes ended on March 12, 2026; Laravel 12 supports PHP 8.2 to 8.5 and Laravel 13 supports PHP 8.3 to 8.5. Our Laravel upgrade checklist, linked on this page, sets out the phases, and PHP runtime moves are covered by our PHP upgrade and migration service.

Do you provide maintenance after delivery?

Yes, if you need it. What is handed over at the end, such as code, documentation and access, is listed in the scope. Fixes, updates and new features after delivery can continue as a monthly retainer.

Who owns the IP rights to what Peregrine builds?

IP ownership and assignment are governed by the executed client agreement.

Questions about the team, contract models and how progress is shown are answered on the services page.
